Attorney General's Office Seizes Documents from Search of Ombudsman Member's Office and Home
JAKARTA — Prosecutors from the Attorney General’s Office (Kejagung) seized a number of documents and electronic evidence during a search conducted at the office and residence of an Ombudsman RI commissioner with the initials YH on Monday, 9 March 2026.
“There were documents and some electronic evidence,” said A Syarief Sulaeman Nahdi, Director of Special Criminal Investigation at the Attorney General’s Office, to reporters on Tuesday, 10 March 2026.
According to Syarief, the search conducted by prosecutors took place at two locations: the Ombudsman RI office and the commissioner’s residence in the Cibubur area.
Syarief suggested that the search would likely not continue on the following day.
Previously, Anang Supriatna, Head of the Attorney General’s Legal Information Centre, confirmed the search at YH’s residence and office.
Anang explained that the search was conducted as part of an investigation into allegations of obstructing investigations and prosecutions in a palm oil and crude palm oil (CPO) export case.
“He is facing Article 21, obstructing investigations and prosecutions in the palm oil case from before, which had an onslag (discontinuation) verdict,” he stated.
Additionally, prosecutors are also investigating the connection between Ombudsman recommendations that are believed to have been used as a basis for lawsuits filed at the State Administrative Court (PTUN).
