Attorney General's Office Seizes Car Belonging to Asep Yusuf in Free Nutritious Meal Case

The Attorney General’s Office (Kejagung) has seized a car belonging to suspect Asep Yusuf Soemantri (AYS) in the alleged corruption case concerning the governance of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme for 2025-2026. “The car is from one of the suspects we detained about a week ago, namely Saudara AYS,” said Syarief Sulaeman Nahdi, Director of Investigation at the Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes, at the Jampidsus building in Jakarta on Thursday evening. He stated that investigators only obtained the vehicle today, leading to its seizure. The seized vehicle is a Toyota Alphard with registration number B 2135 FGX, currently parked and sealed at the Jampidsus building. Regarding the suspect’s role, Syarief explained that Asep, a private sector individual, was asked by suspect Sony Sonjaya to find partners for the implementation of the MBG programme. Sony Sonjaya allegedly gave Asep access to intervene with the partner verification team for MBG in order to identify vacant kitchen locations and manipulate the registration process for prospective Nutritional Service Fulfilment Units (SPPG), resulting in several previously approved registrations being cancelled. After arranging these SPPG locations, Syarief added, Asep provided a sum of money to suspect Sony Sonjaya.
