Attorney General's Office Reveals Reason for Febrie's Resignation as Jampidsus
The Attorney General’s Office has revealed the reason behind Febrie Adriansyah’s decision to resign from his position as Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (JAM PIDSUS). In a statement received by CNN Indonesia, Head of the Legal Information Centre (Kapuspenkum) Anang Supriatna stated that the resignation was a form of commitment to the legal process. “The decision is a form of commitment to maintaining the integrity, objectivity, and neutrality of law enforcement, in line with an ongoing legal process being handled by investigators from the Indonesian National Police,” the statement read. Anang also confirmed that the duties and functions of case handling within the JAM PIDSUS division will continue to operate as normal. “The Attorney General’s Office respects this decision and ensures that all duties, functions, and case handling within the Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes division will continue to run normally according to applicable mechanisms,” Anang said. The Attorney General’s Office also urged all parties to respect the ongoing legal process. “The Attorney General’s Office invites all parties to respect the ongoing legal process and uphold the principle of presumption of innocence,” he stated. Previously, Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes Febrie Adriansyah had spoken out regarding law enforcement processes conducted by the Police’s Corruption Eradication Directorate (Kortas Tipikor) and the Metro Jaya Regional Police concerning several corruption cases that have drawn public attention. Febrie made these remarks during a press conference held at the Attorney General’s Office on Friday (10/7).
