Attorney General's Office Responds to Acquittal of Three Defendants in Sritex Credit Corruption Case
The panel of judges at the Semarang Corruption Court has handed down an acquittal to three defendants in the alleged corruption case concerning credit facilities for PT Sritex. The Attorney General’s Office (AGO) has stated that it respects the judges’ decision.
“We respect and appreciate the panel of judges’ ruling,” said Head of the Public Prosecution Information Centre at the AGO, Anang Supriatna, to reporters on Friday (8/5/2026).
Anang stated that the prosecutors will further study the considerations behind the acquittal verdict. This will inform considerations for subsequent legal actions.
“Of course, the public prosecutor will first thoroughly examine the contents of the verdict, and it will then serve as the basis for the prosecutor to take a stance in accordance with the provisions,” Anang explained.
Previously, the panel of judges at the Semarang Corruption Court acquitted the former President Director (CEO) of Bank Jateng, Supriyatno, in the alleged corruption case involving credit for PT Sritex. In addition to Supriyatno, the panel also acquitted the former CEO of Bank BJB, Yuddy Renaldi.
“Declaring the Defendant not proven guilty of the prosecutor’s charges in their entirety. Ordering the Defendant to be immediately released after this verdict is pronounced,” said the presiding judge, Rommel Franciskus Tampubolon, during the trial in Semarang, as reported by Antara on Friday (8/5).
According to the judge, the defendants were not proven to have intervened to ensure the approval of PT Sritex’s credit application. Furthermore, the defendants were also not proven to have pressured the credit analysis team in the credit submission process.
The judge stated that PT Sritex’s inability to repay the credit was due to planned manipulation of financial reports. This condition, the judge said, is not the responsibility of the defendants.
In the case, Supriyatno and Yuddy were demanded 10 years in prison by the public prosecutor. Besides those two names, the judge also acquitted the Head of the Corporate and Commercial Division of Bank BJB, Dicky Syahbandinata.
On the other hand, the Semarang District Court has convicted two former Sritex bosses. The judge sentenced Iwan Setiawan Lukminto (Iwan) to 14 years in prison and Iwan Kurniawan Lukminto (Wawan) to 12 years in prison.
The judge also imposed fines of Rp 1 billion each on Iwan and Wawan. Iwan and Wawan were also ordered to pay restitution of Rp 677 billion each.
