JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The Attorney General’s Office (AGO) respects the DPR RI Commission III’s Hearing with Opinion (RDP) that featured defendant videographer Amsal Christy Sitepu in connection with allegations of budget inflation in the production of village promotional videos.

“We are ready and we greatly respect it,” said the Head of the Legal Information Centre (Kapuspenkum) of the Attorney General’s Office, Anang Supriatna, when met at the AGO in Jakarta on Monday (30/3/2026).

Anang reiterated that the DPR RI RDP is part of oversight of law enforcement.

On this occasion, he also responded to the DPR RI Commission III’s request for the suspension of Sitepu’s detention.

“Well, go ahead, there are legal mechanisms to pursue. One of them was the prosecution yesterday, so next is the plea from the defendant and legal counsel, just present it there as it is,” he said.

After it is presented, the panel of judges will consider it.

He is accused of inflating the budget for village promotional video services through his company, CV Promiseland.

In this case, Amsal is demanded a two-year prison sentence, a fine of Rp50 million, and an obligation to repay state losses of Rp202 million.

He is charged under Article 3 in conjunction with Article 18 of Law No. 31 of 1999 as amended by Law No. 20 of 2001 on the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption.

Based on the Case Tracking Information System (SIPP) of the Medan District Court, Amsal is known to have submitted proposals for village profile video production to 20 villages in Karo Regency through CV Promiseland.

In the document, the cost of producing a village profile video was offered at Rp30 million per village.

However, the results of expert analysis and auditors from the Karo Regency Inspectorate indicate that a reasonable price for one village profile video is around Rp24.1 million.

The difference in value comes from several cost components, such as creative concepts, equipment use, production process, to post-production like editing and dubbing.

This calculation difference then became one of the bases for the alleged budget inflation in the case ensnaring Amsal Sitepu.
