The Attorney General’s Office (Kejagung) has proposed an additional budget of Rp22.1 trillion to Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) for the 2027 fiscal year.

“The Indonesian Attorney General’s Office has proposed an additional budget requirement for 2027 amounting to 22.1 trillion. Hopefully, it can be considered, Sir, to be fulfilled,” said Deputy Attorney General Asep Nana Mulyana during a meeting at the DPR Building in Central Jakarta on Monday, 31 August 2026.

Asep noted that Kejagung has been allocated a budget ceiling of Rp21.5 trillion for 2027. However, this amount is deemed insufficient to meet its needs.

He stated that the ideal budget according to Kejagung for 2026 is Rp43.6 trillion.

“Regarding the proposed additional budget for the Indonesian Attorney General’s Office for the 2027 fiscal year, taking into account the allocation ceiling for the 2027 fiscal year of 21.5 trillion and comparing it with the real ideal budget for 2027, which is Rp43.6 trillion,” Asep said.

Asep explained that the additional budget will be used for personnel expenditure. In 2026, Kejagung has appointed 7,057 civil servant candidates (CPNS) to become permanent civil servants (PNS).

Furthermore, there are 1,609 government employees with work agreements (PPPK), including the transfer of 786 civil servants from the Ministry of Immigration and Corrections.

“Secondly, it relates to accelerating the completion of the President’s directive tasks,” Asep said.

In addition, the funds will be used to pay performance allowances, position facilities, and functional position allowances for prosecutors, particularly those serving in 3T regions (disadvantaged, frontier, and outermost).

“The addition related to the allowances for those serving in the 3T category also concerns issues such as price increases, transportation, and so on,” he explained.

The budget will also be used for adjustments to investigation and prosecution duties following the enactment of the new Criminal Code (KUHP) and Criminal Procedure Code (KUHAP).

“And fifth, supporting facilities and infrastructure for duties and functions, including asset recovery and office renovation, covering electricity, water, telephone costs, and other supporting needs,” Asep concluded.
