The investigation into alleged corruption regarding the management of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) Programme for the 2025-2026 fiscal year is confirmed to extend beyond the three suspects already identified by the Attorney General’s Office (Kejagung). The investigative team is now opening the possibility of examining all parties believed to have knowledge of the programme’s policy framework.

This move indicates that the investigation into the case involving the former Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Dadan Hindayana, along with his two former deputies, Sony Sonjaya and Lodewyk Pusung, will continue to expand. The Director of Investigation for the Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) at Kejagung, Syarief Sulaeman Nahdi, emphasised that anyone deemed to possess relevant information may be summoned for questioning.

“To clarify, anyone we require to shed light on the criminal act can be examined as a witness,” he stated on Thursday, 4 June 2026.

One name within the investigation’s radar is Nanik S. Deyang, who previously held the position of Deputy Head of the BGN and served as Head of the BGN. However, the Attorney General’s Office has not yet provided certainty regarding the timing of her summons. Syarief emphasised that summoning witnesses does not necessarily imply involvement in a crime, but is part of the investigators’ efforts to fully unravel the construction of the case.

“As I mentioned, everyone has the potential to be called as a witness. However, not all witnesses are involved in criminal activity. A witness is simply someone who knows or has heard about the existence of the criminal act,” he said.

It was previously reported that the Attorney General’s Office uncovered serious alleged irregularities in the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) Programme, implicating three former high-ranking officials of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) as suspects. The former Head of BGN, Dadan Hindayana, alongside former Deputy Heads Sony Sanjaya and Lodewyk Pusung, allegedly exploited the development of Nutrition Fulfilment Service Units (SPPG) through foundations affiliated with them. The three were officially named suspects by investigators from the Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampress) following a series of examinations on Wednesday, 3 June 2026.
