Attorney General's Office Raids Office and Home of Ombudsman Commissioner in CPO Case
Jakarta — Investigators from the Attorney General’s Office (Kejagung) raided the office of the Ombudsman of the Republic of Indonesia as well as the residence of one of its commissioners on Monday, 9 March 2026.
The raids were related to investigations into allegations of obstruction of justice proceedings in the crude palm oil (CPO) export corruption case.
Anang Supriatna, Head of the Attorney General’s Legal Information Centre, confirmed the raids.
“It is true that there was a raid at his residence and office today,” Anang told journalists on Monday.
“He is facing Article 21, obstruction of investigation and prosecution in the cooking oil case from before, the acquittal decision,” he said.
“Yes, one of them,” he said when asked whether the raids were related to an Ombudsman recommendation used in a lawsuit at the Administrative Court.
He added that as of Monday afternoon, the raiding process was still ongoing.
However, Anang did not provide details of the Ombudsman commissioner whose residence was also raided by investigators. He only referred to the residence as belonging to one of the commissioners of the public services oversight agency.
“It is his residence, one of the commissioners of the Ombudsman,” Anang said.
The case under investigation is related to the granting of crude palm oil (CPO) export facilities involving three major corporations: Permata Hijau Group, Wilmar Group, and Musim Mas Group.
In this case, several parties have been charged with offering bribes to judges to render acquittal verdicts.
Prosecutors previously revealed that Marcella, together with several other parties, allegedly gave bribes to judges through various intermediaries. The bribes amounted to USD 2.5 million, or approximately IDR 40 billion.
The funds are suspected to have been distributed to several parties within the judicial system to ensure the panel of judges issued acquittal verdicts for the three corporations entangled in the CPO export case.
Besides Marcella, other individuals involved in this case include lawyer Junaedi Saibih, attorney Ariyanto Bakri, and Muhammad Syafei from the company Wilmar.
