Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, has commented on the Attorney General’s Office’s decision to conduct a search at the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) office in Kebon Sirih, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday (3/6/202<0xA0>26). He stated that he had only learned of the incident through mass media reports.

“I have not heard anything regarding arrests. I have only heard news regarding the search. However, whatever the case, we leave it to the law enforcement agencies, which certainly have their own considerations,” Dasco said during a press conference at the Nusantara III Building, Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta.

The Daily Chairman of the Gerindra Party explained that Commission IX of the House, which serves as BGN’s partner, has submitted a performance evaluation of the agency to the government. According to him, these inputs have been accommodated by the government, alongside the need for improved governance within the BGN.

The Attorney General’s Office’s special crimes investigators confirmed that the search at the BGN office has been ongoing since the early hours of Wednesday. However, no detailed explanation regarding the specific purpose of the raid has been provided.

This development follows President Prabowo Subianto’s recent leadership reshuffle within the BGN, aimed at evaluating and strengthening the implementation of priority government programmes. Dadan Hindayana, the former head of the BGN, has been replaced by Nanik S. Deyang. The decision was announced by State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, accompanied by Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya and Head of Government Communications Muhammad Qodari.

Prasetyo stated that the change was made after evaluating the BGN’s performance over the eighteen months since the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme began in early 2025. He emphasised that the National Nutrition Agency plays a strategic role in improving public nutrition, requiring strong governance, effective cross-sector coordination, and accountable leadership.

In addition to the removal of Dadan Hindayana, two Deputy Heads of the BGN, Lodewijk Pusung and Sony Sonjaya, were also replaced. President Prabowo has appointed Nanik S. Deyang as the new Head of BGN, with Agustina Arumsari and Major General (Rtd) Trenggono serving as Deputy Heads. The government expressed hope that the new leadership would consolidate internal operations and enhance synergy with regional governments to ensure the success of priority programmes.
