The Attorney General’s Office (Kejagung) has proposed an additional budget of Rp 28.1 trillion for the 2027 fiscal year. The proposal was made because the predetermined indicative ceiling is deemed insufficient to support the implementation of the office’s duties and functions.

This was conveyed by the Junior Attorney General for Development (Jambin), Hendro Dewanto, during a Hearing Meeting (RDP) with Commission III of the House of Representatives (DPR) on Monday (15/6/2026). Hendro stated that the indicative budget ceiling for the Attorney General’s Office of Rp 15.5 trillion is not yet ideal.

“We are proposing an additional budget requirement for the 2027 fiscal year amounting to Rp 28.151 trillion. This additional budget requirement is allocated to support the implementation of the prosecutor’s office duties and functions,” Hendro said at the DPR Commission III meeting in the Parliamentary Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Monday (15/6).

Hendro explained there are 13 challenges that must be faced in 2027, which form the basis for the proposed budget increase. These range from optimising law enforcement to improving employee welfare.

“The preparation of the ideal requirements for the Indonesian Attorney General’s Office in 2027 has considered at least 13 estimated conditions and challenges that must be faced in 2027,” he stated.

“Optimising law enforcement balanced with improving the welfare of prosecutor’s office employees, performance allowances for job classes, and functional position allowances for prosecutors and employees,” he added.

The proposed additional budget of Rp 28.1 trillion is divided into two programmes: law enforcement and management support.

“The law enforcement and legal services programme amounts to Rp 11.39 trillion. The management support programme amounts to Rp 16.76 trillion,” he said.
