Attorney General's Office Officially Halts Data Collection on Free Nutritious Meal Programme Nationwide

The Attorney General’s Office (Kejagung) has officially halted the collection of data and information related to the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meal Programme (MBG) across Indonesia. The decision was made as the investigation into alleged corruption within the programme’s management has advanced, leading to the naming of several suspects.

The halt was formalised in a letter signed by the Director of Investigations for the Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus), Syarief Sulaeman Nahdi, on Friday, 10 July 2026. The letter was addressed to all High Prosecutor’s Offices (Kejati) throughout the country.

Head of the Attorney General’s Office Legal Information Centre, Anang Supriatna, confirmed the issuance of the letter. He explained that the data collection phase had been completed, and the investigation had moved forward. ‘The time limit for data collection has ended. The letter was issued to prevent any misuse of the data collection activities,’ Anang stated.

He added that all data and information gathered during the process would be used as material for the ongoing investigation. The Attorney General’s Office has named seven suspects in connection with the alleged corruption in the governance of the Free Nutritious Meal Programme within the National Nutrition Agency (BGN).

The suspects include Dadan Hindayana, Sony Sonjaya, and Lodewyk Pusung. Investigators also named Asep Yusuf Somantri, a close associate of Sony Sonjaya, as well as Andri Mulyono, Commissioner of PT Yasa Artha Trimanunggal, and Glory Harimas Sihombing, Chairperson of the Indonesia Food Security Review Foundation. The most recent suspect named is an active police officer, Brigadier General Lalu Muhammad Iwan Mahardan, who previously served as the Head of the Legal and Public Relations Bureau at BGN.
