Attorney General's Office Officially Appeals Acquittal of Former Regional Bank Executives in Sritex Case
JAKARTA - The Attorney General’s Office (Kejagung) has officially filed an appeal against the acquittal ruling for several former regional bank executives in the alleged corruption case involving the provision of credit facilities to PT Sritex.
Head of the Legal Information Centre at Kejagung, Anang Supriatna, stated that the appeal was submitted by the public prosecutors on Monday (11/5/2026).
“As of yesterday, 11 May, the prosecutorial team has filed and declared an appeal against that acquittal decision,” Anang said at the Kejagung building in Jakarta on Tuesday (12/5/2026).
Anang explained that the appeal was pursued because the case is still being tried under the old Criminal Procedure Code (KUHAP).
According to him, this is also stated in the judges’ considerations when reading the verdict.
“This case was transferred and tried still using the old KUHAP. And in the judges’ considerations in the verdict, it is stated among other things that this was tried using the old criminal procedure law,” Anang said.
“The legal advisory team from Iwan Lukminto and associates also filed an appeal, and the prosecutors also filed an appeal on that day regarding the Sritex case,” Anang added.
Previously, the panel of judges at the Semarang Corruption Court issued acquittals for former President Director of Bank Jateng, Supriyatno, former President Director of Bank BJB, Yuddy Renaldi, and former Director of UMKM and Sharia at Bank DKI, Babay Farid Wazadi.
The panel assessed that the defendants were not proven to have intervened or abused their authority in the credit granting process to PT Sritex.
The judges stated that the loan repayment failures were more due to financial report manipulations carried out by the textile company.
Iwan Setiawan Lukminto was sentenced to 14 years in prison, while Iwan Kurniawan Lukminto was sentenced to 12 years in prison.
Both were also fined Rp 1 billion and ordered to pay restitution of Rp 677 billion.
