Attorney General's Office: No Summons Issued for Dadan Hindayana
Amidst discussions regarding the removal of Dadan Hindayana from his position as Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), rumours have circulated concerning a potential summons by the Attorney General’s Office (Kejagung). However, the Attorney General’s Office has clarified that these reports are untrue. “There has been no summons issued to the individual concerned,” stated Jefri, Acting Head of the Centre for Legal Information and Public Relations at the Attorney General’s Office, on Tuesday (2/6).
President Prabowo has officially removed Dadan from his post and appointed Nanik Sudaryati Deyang to lead the agency responsible for managing the flagship Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme. The restructuring of the BGN leadership was announced by the Minister of State Secretary, Prasetyo Hadi, at the State Palace. In addition to Dadan, the President also dismissed two Deputy Heads of the BGN, Lodewyk Pusung and Sony Sonjaya, expressing gratitude for their hard work and dedication.
To fill the vacancies, President Prabowo has appointed Nanik Sudaryati Deyang as the new Head of the BGN. Nanik previously served as the Deputy Head of the BGN for Public Communication and Investigation. The Deputy Head positions are now occupied by Agustina Arumsari and Major General (Rtd) Trenggono.
The removal of Dadan Hindayana, who served as the inaugural Head of the BGN since his appointment in August 2024, is strongly suspected to be linked to a series of issues in the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meal programme. During his tenure, several cases of food poisoning involving school children were reported. These incidents forced the BGN to take decisive action by freezing thousands of Nutrition Fulfilment Service Units (SPPG) acting as suppliers. As of 29 May 2026, 8,182 SPPGs out of a total of 27,208 units across Indonesia have been suspended.
The MBG programme remains a primary pillar of the Prabowo administration’s policy. As of March 2026, the programme has reached 61,239,037 beneficiaries, including 49,057,682 school students across various regions in Indonesia.
