Attorney General's Office Investigating Corruption at BGN Involving Dadan and Others

The investigation has been ongoing for about one week, starting just a few days ago, stated Syarief Sulaeman Nahdi, Director of Investigation at the Attorney General’s Office’s Jampidsus division, during a press conference in South Jakarta on Wednesday (3/6/2026).

Syarief noted that the authorities had been studying the alleged corruption regarding the management of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme even before the formal investigation commenced. He mentioned that the office had been monitoring several issues, including public reports and discrepancies in kitchen specifications and regulations.

Syarfe added that the investigation is still being expanded, which includes identifying SPPG foundations affiliated with the alleged criminal activities. “We are currently inventorying which foundations are ineligible to receive funds or act as partners for the BGN,” he said, clarifying that affiliation refers to unlawful activities and conflicts of interest. He emphasised that the investigation will continue as long as new evidence is found, as the formal inquiry has only just begun.

Syarief also reported that searches were conducted at several locations since Tuesday (2/6) night, including the BGN offices and the residences of the suspects. As a result of these searches, the Attorney General’s Office seized various documents and electronic devices.

As previously reported, the Attorney General’s Office has named Dadan Hindayana, Sony Sonjaya, and Lodewyk Pusung as suspects and has officially detained all three. The investigation was carried out based on an order dated 29 May 2026. Following examinations and the acquisition of sufficient evidence, the investigators designated DH (Head of BGN), SS (Deputy Head of BGN), and LP (Deputy Head of BGN) as suspects in the alleged corruption case involving the management of the Free Nutritious Meal programme.

Prior to these developments, President Prabowo Subianto had removed Dadan Hindayana, Sony Sonjaya, and Lodewyk Pusung from their positions at the BGN on Tuesday (2/6).
