The Attorney General’s Office (Kejagung) has confirmed it is investigating alleged manipulation of palm oil export values by PT Salim Ivomas Pratama (SIP). The company is suspected of exporting at below-market prices to suppress tax obligations and hide profits.

Kejagung has been gathering information regarding the company’s banking facilities and financing schemes through a private bank.

“There is an ongoing investigation into that matter. However, we do not yet know exactly which banks are involved. There are several companies. Yes, it is being investigated,” said Kejagung spokesperson Anang Supriatna, as quoted from the Instagram account of the PKH Task Force on Monday (15/6/2026).

Previously, several Malaysian media outlets highlighted reports that the Indonesian Attorney General’s Office had questioned Maybank regarding PT Salim Ivomas Pratama. Media such as The Edge Malaysia, Free Malaysia Today, and The Star reported on the matter, citing a Bloomberg article titled “Indonesia authorities question Maybank staff over Salim exports”.

PT Bank Maybank Indonesia Tbk has responded to reports of the Attorney General’s Office investigation related to PT Salim Ivomas Pratama. In a press statement to CNBC Indonesia, Maybank stated that its actions were part of a cooperative stance towards the authorities.

“The attendance of Maybank Indonesia employees is part of the company’s cooperative attitude in the process being carried out by the competent authorities,” a Maybank spokesperson said on Thursday (11/6/2026).

“In providing credit facilities, the company always adheres to applicable laws and regulations and conducts analysis based on prudential principles,” the spokesperson emphasised.

“Maybank Indonesia respects the ongoing legal process. As a banking institution, Maybank Indonesia consistently upholds the principles of good corporate governance, compliance, and applicable regulations.”
