Attorney General's Office hands over suspect Hery Susanto to Public Prosecutors

The Attorney General’s Office (Kejagung) has handed over suspect Hery Susanto (HS), the former Chairman of the Indonesian Ombudsman, to the Public Prosecutors of the South Jakarta District Attorney’s Office on Monday (8/6).

“The investigation team from the Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) has completed the handover of suspect HS and evidence (Phase II) to the Public Prosecutors at the South Jakarta District Attorney’s Office,” stated the Acting Head of the Legal Information Centre of the Attorney General’s Office, Mochammad Jefry.

Jefry noted that this second phase follows an extensive investigation involving the examination of 38 witnesses, two experts, various documents, and electronic evidence, as well as searches conducted within the DKI Jakarta province.

Hery Susanto was named a suspect on 16 April 2026, in relation to alleged corruption within the nickel mining business governance in Southeast Sulawesi province for the 2012–2025 period.

According to the findings of the Jampidsus investigation team, Hery Susanto unlawfully received various sums of money from companies, as well as one residential house.

The suspect faces charges under several articles of the Law on the Eradication of Corruption Crimes, including primary and subsidiary charges related to bribery and unlawful enrichment. The prosecutors are now set to transfer the case to the Corruption Crimes Court at the Central Jakarta District Court.
