Attorney General's Office Halts Data Collection on Free Nutritious Meal Programme Issues
The Attorney General’s Office (Kejagung) has halted data and statement collection activities concerning the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme. Head of the Attorney General’s Office Legal Information Centre Anang Supriatna confirmed the existence of a circular containing rules to stop the data collection.
“The circular was issued because the deadline for collecting the data has expired, and it was issued so that it would not be misused,” Anang said at the Attorney General’s Office in Jakarta on Monday (13/7).
The circular, Number B-3256/F.2/Fd.2/07/2026, was issued on Friday (10/7) and signed by the Director of Investigation at the Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus), Syarief Sulaeman Nahdi.
Earlier, the Jampidsus had issued Letter Number B-2668/F.2/Fd.2/06/2026 dated 15 June 2026, ordering all heads of high prosecutors’ offices to inventory and report problems in the MBG programme’s implementation.
Following a disposition from the Attorney General, data and statement collection at Nutritional Fulfilment Service Units (SPPG) is to be stopped, with all heads of high prosecutors’ offices instructed to cease such activities in their respective jurisdictions.
The Attorney General’s disposition was issued after a letter from the Head of the Internal Security Sub-Division of the Profession and Security Bureau of the Central Java Regional Police circulated regarding questioning of SPPG managers by prosecutors.
In the letter, National Police personnel serving as SPPG managers were advised not to comply with prosecutors’ summonses without lawful accompanying procedures.
In relation to this, the Central Java High Prosecutor’s Office affirmed that it had not conducted any searches, examinations or sting operations against SPPG managers. Head of the Legal Information Section of the Central Java High Prosecutor’s Office Arfan Triono said all district prosecutors’ offices in Central Java had carried out data and statement collection at SPPG locations.
