The Attorney General’s Office (Kejaksaan Agung, or Kejagung) said the posts of regional high prosecutors (Kepala Kejaksaan Tinggi, or Kajati) are now held by prosecutors with three-star rank. Kejagung’s Head of the Legal Information Centre, Anang Supriatna, said the arrangement refers to Presidential Regulation No. 45/2026.

“It will indeed be proposed that the post be made equivalent,” Anang said at the building housing the Attorney General’s Office’s Special Crimes Division in South Jakarta on Thursday (15 October 2026).

He explained that the equivalence concerns adjustments to the ranks of officials in other institutions, such as the Jakarta Military Regional Commander and the regional police chief. He said an adjustment was needed because the officials are part of the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda).

“As colleagues know, the military regional commander and police chief already hold three-star rank. Since they are part of Forkopimda, the high prosecutor’s office will also be adjusted, with the Kajati post brought to an equivalent level,” he said.

Anang also said the rank equivalence was already in effect for the Jakarta high prosecutor. The DKI Jakarta High Prosecutor’s Office is currently led by Sutikno, a three-star prosecutor.

“Yes,” he said.
