Attorney General's Office Examines Over 50 Witnesses in Free Nutritious Meal Programme Corruption Case

The Attorney General’s Office (Kejagung) has examined more than 50 witnesses in relation to an alleged corruption case within the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme. Head of the Legal Information Centre, Anang Supriatna, stated that investigators are following up on public complaints, particularly regarding alleged irregularities at the Nutrition Fulfilment Service Unit (SPPG) level.

Anang explained that the Kejagung had previously issued a circular to several High Prosecutor’s Offices (Kejati) to inventory and collect data on the reports received. After a period of approximately 10 days, a subsequent circular was issued to halt the data collection activities, with the gathered information handed over to investigators. He noted that the data will be used to support the evidentiary process in the main case currently under investigation.

Regarding various information circulating on social media about potential irregularities, Anang said investigators will be selective in determining what constitutes valid evidence. In addition to probing the criminal acts, the Kejagung is simultaneously conducting asset tracing to recover state financial losses, with calculations currently being carried out by the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP).
