Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Attorney General’s Office (Kejagung) has ensured that electric motorcycles will not be seized in relation to the alleged corruption case involving the management of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme at the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) for 2025–2026. It is understood that electric motorcycles are among the items whose procurement prices were allegedly marked up by three suspects: the former Head of the National Nutrition Agency, Dadan Hindayana, and two former Deputy Heads of the BGN, Lodewyk Pusung and Sony Sonjaya.

“If the goods have already reached the regions and are being used, we certainly will not carry out a seizure,” said the Director of Investigation of the Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) at the Attorney General’s Office, Syarief Sulaeman Nahdi, at the Jampidsus Building in Jakarta on Thursday. He stated that investigators are only taking samples, while the remainder can continue to be used by the Nutritional Service Fulfilment Units (SPPG).

“Only samples. Therefore, there is no need to seize everything. Everything can be used in their respective regions. What we are investigating are the traces of that procurement,” he added.

The three suspects are alleged to have inflated the procurement prices of several items at the BGN, including 21,801 electric motorcycles with a total procurement value of Rp1.035 trillion. The funds were paid to PT YAT, which failed to meet the requirements as a vendor because it lacked active dealerships or workshops, and was involved in the price mark-up. This inflation caused waste and losses to state finances.

As a result of their actions, the suspects are charged with violating Article 603 in conjunction with Article 20, letter a or c of Law Number 1 of 2023 regarding the Criminal Code, in conjunction with Article 18 of Law Number 31 of 1999 regarding the Eradication of Corruption Crimes, as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001. The three suspects have been detained for the next 20 days, starting from Wednesday (3/6), at the Salemba Detention Centre, Attorney General’s Office branch and the South Jakarta Attorney General’s Office branch.
