Attorney General's Office Detains RI Ombudsman Chairman

The Attorney General’s Office has detained Hery Susanto, the Chairman of the Indonesian Ombudsman. Hery was seen wearing a detainee vest as he exited the Jampidsus Building at the Attorney General’s Office in South Jakarta. According to detikNews, Hery was escorted out of the Jampidsus Building at 11:19 WIB. He was wearing a pink detainee vest and was handcuffed. Hery was then taken to a detention vehicle. Hery remained silent until he entered the vehicle. The Attorney General’s Office has not yet explained the case involving Hery. The Head of Public Relations and Legal Information at the Attorney General’s Office, Anang Suprianta, stated that detailed information would soon be provided through a press release. “Please wait a moment,” he said when asked if Hery Susanto had indeed been detained. For information, Hery Susanto officially assumed the position of Ombudsman Chairman for the 2026-2031 period on Friday (10/4). He previously also served as an Ombudsman member.
