Attorney General's Office Denies Holding Online Meeting on Corruption Cases

The Attorney General’s Office has denied holding an online meeting via Zoom to discuss corruption investigations being handled by the Police’s Corruption Eradication Corps (Kortastipidkor) and the Metro Jaya Regional Police. Head of the Attorney General’s Legal Information Centre, Anang Supriatna, stated that routine online meetings are held every two weeks to remind staff to work carefully. A circular regarding a Zoom meeting scheduled for today circulated on social media, triggering public speculation about its connection to ongoing corruption cases. Anang explained the meeting was intended to provide general guidance to work diligently, but it was cancelled after the circular was misinterpreted as having a specific agenda. He insisted the meeting had no predetermined conclusions. The speculation arose as Kortastipidkor and Metro Jaya Police conducted searches at several locations, including a café and a money changer in South Jakarta, and a house in Sentul, Bogor Regency. Police are investigating alleged corruption in coal supply governance that reportedly caused power blackouts, as well as alleged corruption at PT Asabri and PT Jiwasraya for the 2020-2025 period, and money laundering related to debt settlement between PT CBS and PT KNI.
