Attorney General's Office continues raids in Free Nutritious Meal programme investigation

The Attorney General’s Office (Kejagung) is continuing to conduct searches at several locations as part of the investigation into alleged corruption regarding the management of the 2025–2026 Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme at the National Nutrition Agency (BGN).

“Regarding developments, we are still conducting searches; it is ongoing in several locations. As for the specific locations, we will announce them later, but we cannot disclose them at this time,” said the Director of Investigation for the Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) at the Attorney General’s Office, Syarief Sulaeman Nahdi, at the Jampidsus Building in Jakarta on Thursday.

He stated that these searches aim to collect evidence as part of an intensive investigation. This action follows previous raids conducted by investigators at the BGN office in Central Jakarta and the residences of three suspects.

In addition to searching several locations, he noted that investigators are also continuing to examine witnesses, including representatives from vendor companies. “The process is ongoing; it has only been one day,” he added.

The three suspects are the former Head of the BGN, Dadan Hindayana, and two former Deputy Heads of the BGN, Lodewyk Pusung and Sony Sonjaya. They are alleged to have unlawfully appointed affiliated foundations as partners for the Nutrition Fulfilment Service Units (SPPG). Furthermore, they are suspected of conducting illegal procurement processes for both goods and services.

For their actions, the suspects are charged with violating Article 603 in conjunction with Article 20, points a or c of Law Number 1 of 2023 regarding the Criminal Code, in conjunction with Article 18 of Law Number 31 of 1999 on the Eradication of Corruption Crimes, as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001.

Moving forward, the three suspects will undergo detention for the next 20 days, effective from Wednesday (3/6), at the Salemba Detention Centre under the jurisdiction of the Attorney General’s Office and the South Jakarta District Attorney’s Office.
