Attorney General's Office Conducts 8-Hour Search of National Nutrition Agency Office; Investigation Details Pending

The Attorney General’s Office (Kejagung) has been searching the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) office in Central Jakarta since the early hours of Wednesday (3/6). A security officer at the BGN office reported that investigators from the Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes have been on-site since approximately 02:00 WIB.

As of now, there has been no further explanation from the Attorney General’s Office regarding the purpose of the search or the specific case being investigated. The Acting Head of the Legal Information Centre at the Attorney General’s Office, Mohammad Jeffry, confirmed the search but noted that a press conference regarding the results would be held at a later date. “Investigators from the Special Crimes division of the Attorney General’s Office are indeed conducting a search at the BGN office,” he stated via text message on Wednesday.

Observations at the scene showed several BGN employees waiting outside the office premises during working hours. Staff members arriving at the location were instructed to remain outside the building while awaiting further instructions, as access to the office was restricted due to the ongoing activities involving the Attorney General’s Office.

This search follows the dismissal of the Head of the BGN, Dadan Hindayana, by President Prabowo Subianto on Tuesday (2/6). When asked if the dismissal was related to allegations of bribery involving the Nutrition Service Fulfillment Units (SPPG), the Minister of State Secretary, Prasetyo Hadi, stated that the matter is currently undergoing an internal audit. “Everything is in the process of an internal audit. This is part of the continuous monitoring and evaluation that we conduct,” Prasetyo said at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Tuesday.
