Attorney General's Office Auctions 'Pharaoh's Throne' for Rp 43 Million, Who Wants to Buy?

The Attorney General’s Office (Kejagung) is auctioning a replica of the Egyptian Pharaoh’s throne. The chair is a seized asset currently held by the Attorney General’s Office Asset Recovery Agency (BPA). Viewed from the BPA Fair website on Monday (11/5/2026), the item being auctioned is named ‘patung kursi Firaun Gold ’King Tutankhamen’s Egyptian Throne Chair’ Replica. Its reserve price is Rp 43,917,000. Those interested can deposit a guarantee of Rp 9 million. Bidding starts online on Tuesday (12/5) and ends on Thursday (21/5). “Miniature throne of the Pharaoh King from Egypt,” states the website. In the photo viewed, the chair is green with gold-coloured ornaments. There is no explanation of the case from which the chair was seized. Kejagung is also auctioning a large jade dragon ship statue or Carved Jade Ship Dragon Ancient Chinese. Its reserve price is Rp 194,576,000. “Miniature ship made of jade stone,” the website states. Furthermore, Kejagung is auctioning several gold paintings by South Korean artist Kim Tae Il. The paintings are being sold with reserve prices starting from Rp 1.3 billion to Rp 8.7 billion.
