Attorney General's Office Arrests RI Ombudsman Chairman Hery Susanto

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – The Attorney General’s Office (Kejagung) has arrested Hery Susanto (HS), who serves as Chairman of the Ombudsman RI. A team of investigators from the Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) apprehended Hery at his residence in Jakarta on Thursday (16/4/2026). The investigative team, which carried out the arrest, informed Republika that Hery was detained in relation to receiving money for managing audit reports (LHP) from several mining operations. “He was arrested in connection with receiving money to handle mining LHPs,” the source stated on Thursday (16/4/2026). Following the arrest, the investigative team escorted Hery to the Round Building at Jampidsus, Kejagung, for examination. After the questioning, the investigators designated Hery as a suspect. On Thursday (16/4/2026), around 11:20 WIB, Hery emerged wearing an orange vest indicating his legal status as a suspect, before being placed in a detention cell.
