The Director of Investigation (Dirdik) of the Jampidsus at the Attorney General’s Office, Syarief Sulaeman Nahdi, stated that the public should not be concerned, as case handling is conducted selectively based on investigators’ findings. “We will monitor the situation as it progresses; not all SPPGs in Indonesia are problematic. We are only checking those that are indeed problematic,” Syarief told journalists at the Attorney General’s Office Building in South Jakarta on Thursday (4/6/2026).

He explained that inspections also apply to SPPGs under other agencies. He noted that if irregularities are found, his office will coordinate accordingly. “If those affiliated with the TNI or Polri are not problematic, there is no need for intervention. We will only coordinate if there are irregularities and issues,” he clarified.

The Attorney General’s Office has named three former officials of the BGN as suspects in this case. They are the former Head of BGN, Dadan Hindayana, and two former Deputy Heads of BGN, Sony Sonjaya and Lodewyk Pusung. The three are alleged to have intervened in the verification process of the BGN partner portal to ensure that foundations owned by them passed the process despite being unqualified.

In addition to the intervention, the three suspects are also allegedly affiliated with several SPPGs. Through these affiliations, several SPPG foundations reportedly received billions of rupiah every day. Regarding this matter, the Attorney General’s Office will coordinate with the BGN to determine the next steps for foundations or SPPGs affiliated with the suspects, including their operational continuity.

“The seizure of items is intended for use as evidence of criminal activity. This evidence can include documents or other materials. It does not necessarily mean the SPPG itself will be targeted. As long as the SPPG is serving the public, we will not halt its activities,” Syarief stated. Currently, the Attorney General’s Office is continuing to collect data regarding the exact number of SPPGs affiliated with the suspects, including their geographical distribution.
