The Indonesian Attorney General’s Asset Recovery Agency (BPA) has entered into a partnership with state-owned mining holding company PT Mineral Industri Indonesia (Persero), or MIND ID, to optimise asset recovery. The cooperation was formalised through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding in Jakarta on Thursday (23/7/2026).

Kuntadi, Head of the BPA, stated that the agency is a supporting element of the Attorney General’s Office mandated by law to trace, confiscate, and return assets resulting from criminal acts or other assets to the state, victims, or entitled parties. “We realise that in carrying out this mandate, cross-sectoral synergy is a necessity. Therefore, the signing of this Cooperation Agreement holds very essential meaning,” Kuntadi said in a written statement.

He also expressed appreciation for MIND ID’s commitment to supporting the implementation of the Asset Recovery Agency’s duties. This support includes the safekeeping, management, maintenance, supervision, and other forms of assistance in asset recovery that align with the principles of good corporate governance.

According to Kuntadi, the agreed scope of cooperation not only covers operational activities for asset recovery but also includes the exchange of data and information, enhancement of human resource competencies, and the formation of a joint team to ensure effective handling in the field. “Through this agreement, we have also agreed upon a comprehensive scope, which is not limited to operational asset recovery activities. We also agreed to exchange data and information, organise human resource competency improvements, and form a Joint Team to ensure effectiveness in the field,” he said.

Kuntadi also conveyed his appreciation to the President Director of MIND ID for establishing this synergy with the Attorney General’s Office, particularly the Asset Recovery Agency. He expressed hope that this collaboration would be a first step in strengthening law enforcement while restoring the rights of the people and the state.
