Attorney General Urges Prosecutors to Rise from Adversity
Attorney General Sanitiar Burhanuddin has called on all ranks within the Prosecutor’s Office to rise from the current state of adversity facing the institution.
Burhanuddin requested that all members of the Adhyaksa corps reflect on the 81st Anniversary of the Prosecutor’s Office to honour the services of their predecessors, while instilling values of sincere devotion to the interests of the nation and state.
Burhanuddin noted that this year’s commemoration of the Prosecutor’s Birth Anniversary was conducted differently than usual. For this specific year, the ceremony was held in Field Service Uniform (PDL) rather than Ceremonial Service Uniform (PDU).
“This choice is not merely a change in uniform, but carries a meaning that we must all internalise. The PDL we wear today symbolises the readiness of the Adlohyaksa personnel to face any situation,” said Burhanuddin in his mandate during the ceremony for the 81st Anniversary of the Prosecutor’s Birth Anniversary on Wednesday (2/9).
“Amidst the various trials we are currently facing, we are reminded that the Adhyaksa personnel must always be ready to appear, ready to work, and ready to serve whenever the state and the community need us,” he added.
Burhanuddin did not deny that the Prosecutor’s Office’s journey has not always been smooth. He mentioned that challenges often arise from both within and outside the institution, leading to periods of decline and disappointment.
He even admitted to reflecting on whether the Prosecutor’s Office has been on the right path and providing the best for the community and the nation.
Nevertheless, he reminded all ranks that they must not become lost in this adversity. According to him, the current momentum should be used by the Prosecutor’s Office to grow even better.
“We must not dwell on our setbacks. Every period of adversity must serve as a turning point towards a better state,” he explained.
Burhanuddin stated that all members of the Adhyaksa Corps currently share the collective task of restoring public trust and reclaiming the institution’s dignity.
He reminded them that the revival of the Prosecutor’s Office does not stem from the policy of a single individual or a single generation. In his view, a revival will only occur for the Adhyaksa personnel if they possess the willingness to walk together.
“Prove that the Prosecutor’s Office is capable of passing these tests to become even stronger. This is the time. The storm must pass,” he asserted.
“Experience teaches us one thing: without solidity and solidarity, we will be unable to survive, let alone serve the community and those seeking justice,” he added.
