Attorney General Urges Internal Synergy and Coordination Ahead of New Criminal Code Implementation
Attorney General ST Burhanuddin has instructed his deputies to strengthen synergy and cross-sector coordination within the Adhyaksa Corps. The message was conveyed by newly appointed Deputy Attorney General Asep Nana Mulyana following his inauguration in South Jakarta on Friday.
Asep stated that the Attorney General specifically requested assistance in ensuring the smooth implementation of the new Criminal Code (KUHP) across all divisions, including general crimes, special crimes, and military crimes. He emphasised the need to provide comprehensive understanding of the new code to all prosecutors throughout Indonesia.
Furthermore, Asep revealed that Burhanuddin tasked him with collaborating with the Junior Attorney General for Supervision, Rudi Margono, to enhance oversight. This supervision aims to ensure that all duties in the field are carried out in accordance with regulations, the code of ethics, and prevailing norms. Asep also called for public and media support, acknowledging the increasingly heavy challenges in upholding firm yet humane law enforcement.
