Attorney General Urges Febrie Adriansyah Case Not to Disrupt Jampidsus Performance

Attorney General ST Burhanuddin has instructed the newly appointed Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus), Kuntadi, to ensure that the corruption and money laundering case involving his predecessor, Febrie Adriansyah, does not disrupt the directorate’s performance. The directive was delivered during Kuntadi’s inauguration at the Attorney General’s Office in Jakarta on Friday (24/7).

Burhanuddin instructed Kuntadi to immediately carry out internal consolidation to restore the morale of investigators within the Special Crimes directorate. He stressed the importance of coordinating across divisions and agencies to ensure that any obstacles in case handling are resolved swiftly, accurately, and measurably.

The Attorney General also emphasised that all ongoing corruption cases must be handled independently, objectively, professionally, and transparently. He warned against any external influence on the legal process. “Never be afraid to face pressure, intervention, or intimidation from any party as long as your actions comply with laws and societal norms,” Burhanuddin stated.

He specifically requested that the Jampidsus ranks prioritise cases that affect the public interest and those with a significant impact on state finances and the economy. He demanded that cases be pursued thoroughly without selectivity, supported by strong evidence, and accompanied by optimal asset recovery.
