Attorney General ST Burhanuddin Installs 34 Prosecution Officials, Delivers Key Message
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - Attorney General of the Republic of Indonesia Sanitiar Burhanuddin inaugurated and led the oath-taking ceremony for heads of High Prosecutors’ Offices (Kajati) and echelon II officials within the Attorney General’s Office (Kejagung) at the 11th Floor Hall of the Main Building of the Attorney General’s Office, South Jakarta, Tuesday (11/8/2026).

Opening his address, Burhanuddin congratulated the newly inaugurated officials and affirmed that all appointed officials are the finest Adhyaksa personnel who have undergone a thorough review process, careful consideration, and objective assessment.
This rotation, transfer, and promotion exercise is carried out as a strategic step to strengthen employee career management and drive performance improvement in order to realise the work plans, vision, and mission of the Prosecution Service.
“A position is not merely a post, an honour, or power, but rather a mandate and a manifestation of leadership trust that must be safeguarded and accounted for with integrity, professionalism, and loyalty,” said Burhanuddin as quoted in a press release, Tuesday (11/8/2026).
On that occasion, he highlighted the organisational dynamics by reminding that this inauguration moment is particularly special because it takes place at a time when the Prosecution Service is undergoing a period of trial, rather than being in a state of praise.
Therefore, Burhanuddin instructed all new officials to immediately devote all their energy, thoughts, and best abilities to restore the institution’s dignity and strengthen public trust once again.
Specifically, the Attorney General requested that the new officials immediately give serious attention to the handling of cases that directly affect the livelihoods of the wider public, as well as cases that have a significant impact on state finances and the national economy.
He also stressed the importance of distributing corruption handling so that it is no longer concentrated solely at the Attorney General’s Office, but rather encourages High Prosecutors’ Offices and District Prosecutors’ Offices to dare to take part in handling strategic corruption cases professionally and responsibly.
Given the magnitude of public scrutiny and attention on the Prosecution Service’s performance at present, the Attorney General reminded all Adhyaksa personnel to always maintain integrity and avoid all forms of disgraceful conduct that could tarnish the institution’s reputation.
“The oath of office that has been taken must be interpreted as a sacred promise and a responsibility that will one day be held to account before the state, society, and God Almighty,” said Burhanuddin.
Regarding the emphasis on specific duties for the newly inaugurated heads of High Prosecutors’ Offices, the Attorney General directed that the Kajati immediately adapt and identify the dynamics of problems in their respective working areas quickly, accurately, and proportionally.
Law enforcement in the regions was called upon to be carried out quietly, calmly, measuredly, and without causing counterproductive commotion, as the Kajati are the reflection and representation of the Prosecution Service institution in the regions.
In addition, the Kajati were instructed to build solid synergy with elements of the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda) in order to maintain regional stability without sacrificing the institution’s independence.
“Public transparency must also be strengthened through the active and continuous publication of performance achievements. Internally, direct supervision (waskat) must be strictly enhanced so that there is no room for abuse of authority, and every indication of violation must be dealt with firmly in a tiered manner in accordance with laws and regulations. Officials in the regions are also required to always maintain exemplary integrity of themselves and their families through a simple, firm, and responsible lifestyle,” said Burhanuddin.
Meanwhile, for the newly inaugurated echelon II officials within the Attorney General’s Office, the Attorney General instructed them to immediately study and master all new duties, functions, and authorities in accordance with applicable provisions.
Given that the Attorney General’s Office acts as the centre for policy formulation and controller of task implementation nationally, comprehensive understanding is essential so that law enforcement across all regions of Indonesia runs uniformly, consistently, and with quality.
The echelon II officials were also asked to immediately conduct a thorough evaluation of performance in their respective work units to map existing strengths and weaknesses as a basis for formulating integrated strategies. Synergy and open communication between fields must be strengthened to prevent overlapping authorities and accelerate task completion.
All echelon II ranks are expected to provide full support for the Prosecution Service’s strategic policies by always adhering to the principles of good governance.
Concluding his address, Burhanuddin expressed his highest appreciation and gratitude to the outgoing officials for their dedication and services during their tenure, as well as to the wives of the Adhyaksa Dharma Karini Association board for their loyalty and support.
“Like the sun, a position will surely set, but the light of service will continue to shine. May every step we take be of worship value, every mandate we fulfil bring blessings, and every kindness we plant become a trail of glory until the end of life,” concluded the Attorney General closing his message.
