Attorney General ST Burhanuddin Honoured with Outstanding Award at Prosecutorial Commission Ceremony
‘This award is not for me. Without prosecutors and administrative staff, I am nothing. This is for all of you in the Adhyaksa,’ said ST Burhanuddin after receiving the award at the Attorney General’s Training Centre in Ragunan, South Jakarta on Monday, 25 May 2026.
Burhanuddin then thanked his team and joked that the award was not a form of corruption. ‘Chairman of the Prosecutorial Commission, I hope this isn’t KKN (corruption, collusion, and nepotism). Once again, thank you. Long live Adhyaksa,’ he said.
Previously, Attorney General ST Burhanuddin praised the Prosecutorial Commission for recognising outstanding prosecutors and civil servants. He stressed the awards should not be ceremonial but genuinely merit-based. ‘I hope this process is not merely ceremonial but a true recognition of deserving prosecutors, not just superficial appearances. I hope this collaboration will have a positive impact,’ he stated during his speech at the Attorney General’s Training Centre in Ragunan, South Jakarta on Monday, 25 May 2026.
He warned that some awardees later faced legal issues. ‘As head of the Prosecution, I was slightly traumatised by holding such events. I’ve organised awards before, but within a week, some were arrested by us. Last year, a ‘best prosecutor’ was found guilty of misconduct just three days after receiving the award. It was painful,’ he added.
Prosecutorial Commission Chairman Pujiyono Suwadi said the awards recognise prosecutors’ performance, aiming to boost confidence and professionalism. ‘It’s not just about enforcing discipline but also acknowledging performance, integrity, and dedication of Adhyaksa personnel. This event reflects collaboration between the Prosecutorial Commission and the Indonesian Prosecutors Association to build a professional, ethical, and trusted Prosecution Service,’ he said.
