Attorney General ST Burhanuddin has reshuffled several officials holding key positions within the Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus). The changes come in the wake of former Jampidsus head Febrie Adriansyah being named a suspect.

Head of the Attorney General’s Office Legal Information Centre, Anang Supriatna, stated that the transfer of prosecutors was a consequence of recent vacancies in important positions within Jampidsus. “This is a normal part of the promotion and rotation process to refresh the organisation and fill vacant posts to ensure smooth public service, particularly in law enforcement,” Anang said on Thursday (23/7/2026).

Referring to Attorney General Decree Number 831/2026 issued on 22 July 2026, Burhanuddin overhauled at least 29 prosecutor positions, four of which are within Jampidsus. Among those moved is Syarief Sulaeman Nahdi, who previously served as Director of Investigations at Jampidsus. Syarief has been transferred to the role of Director III at the Junior Attorney General for Intelligence. Syarief is widely known to be close to Febrie Adriansyah, having served alongside him since Febrie held the position of Director of Investigation at Jampidsus from 2020 to 2021.

During his tenure as Director of Investigation, Syarief successfully uncovered numerous mega-corruption cases. The corruption scandal at the National Nutrition Agency was also under his purview. Syarief was the official who announced the suspects in the corruption case involving the Free Nutritious Meals programme, including the naming of Brigadier General Lalu Muhammad Iwan as a suspect. He also exposed a bauxite mining corruption case in West Kalimantan involving PT QSS, leading to the identification of a suspect named Aseng. In other cases, Syarief led the handling of nickel mining corruption cases and, most recently, managed a corruption case concerning rare earth mineral exports in Bangka Belitung.

Besides Syarief, the Attorney General also replaced the Director of Operations Control at Jampidsus, Muhammad Syarifuddin, who has been appointed as the Head of the South Sulawesi High Prosecutor’s Office. Dandeni Herdiana, who previously held the position of Coordinator at Jampidsus, has been moved to become the Deputy Head of the West Nusa Tenggara High Prosecutor’s Office. Lastly, Andi Suharlis, also a Coordinator at Jampidsus, has been transferred to become the Deputy Head of the Yogyakarta High Prosecutor’s Office.

Febrie Adriansyah, who had served as the Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes since 2022, resigned on Friday, 10 July 2026. His resignation followed his implication in alleged corruption and money laundering. Police investigators named Febrie a suspect on Saturday, 11 July 2026, and the case has been transferred to the Attorney General’s Office for further investigation. President Prabowo Subianto has approved the recommendation to appoint Kuntadi as the new Jampidsus. Kuntadi previously held the position of Director of Investigation at Jampidsus before becoming the Head of the East Java High Prosecutor’s Office, and since 2025, he has served as the Head of the Asset Recovery Agency.
