Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi has confirmed receiving the proposal for Kuntadi, who currently serves as Head of the Asset Recovery Agency at the Attorney General’s Office, to become the new Jampidsus. The proposal from Attorney General ST Burhanuddin was received on Tuesday. “Yesterday, Tuesday the 14th, the Attorney General officially sent a letter to the President to propose a replacement for the Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes who recently tendered his resignation,” Prasetyo said at the parliamentary complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Wednesday (15/7/2027). Prasetyo stated that the next step involves an assessment according to the applicable mechanism. He confirmed that the name submitted by the Attorney General is Kuntadi. “Yes, based on the letter, the name proposed is Kuntadi,” he said. “We ask for time to process it because there is a mechanism, namely the Final Assessment Team, which has been the procedure all along.” In addition to the proposal for the Jampidsus position, a name has also been submitted for the Deputy Attorney General. However, Prasetyo did not disclose the name. “There is a name for the Deputy Attorney General, but I apologise as I do not memorise all the names and positions. When the results are decided, we will certainly inform the media and the public,” he stated. It was previously reported that Febrie Adriansyah resigned from his position as Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes. Attorney General ST Burhanuddin appointed Rudi Margono as the acting Jampidsus. “The appointment was made based on the Attorney General’s Order Number: PRINT-76/A/JA/07/2026, as a measure to ensure the continuity of duties, functions, and authority within the Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes until a definitive official is appointed,” said Head of the Attorney General’s Legal Information Centre, Anang Supriatna, to reporters on Saturday (11/7). Rudi Margono currently serves as the Junior Attorney General for Supervision. Anang explained that this leadership change will not affect the law enforcement process for special criminal cases. “We emphasise that this leadership change will not affect the law enforcement process. All handling of special criminal cases continues to proceed professionally, independently, and in accordance with statutory regulations,” Anang said.
