Attorney General: Law Enforcement Must Not Yield to Any Power
JAKARTA - Attorney General ST Burhanuddin has stressed that law enforcement must be carried out firmly and must not yield to any power in efforts to save the state’s wealth.
“Law enforcement must be present firmly and must not lose to any power,” said Burhanuddin during the handover of the results of forest area regulation by the Forest Area Regulation Task Force (Satgas PKH) at the Attorney General’s Office Building, Jakarta, on Wednesday (13/5/2026).
He stated that every natural resource controlled illegally must be returned to the state for the people’s interests.
Furthermore, Burhanuddin also highlighted practices of natural resource misuse that have been deemed detrimental to the state over time.
He emphasised that there must be no more leaks of state wealth that harm national interests or public welfare.
“There must be no more leaks of state wealth that harm national interests and the people’s welfare,” said Burhanuddin.
“There must be no more control of natural resources by a handful of parties that ignore principles of justice and benefits for society,” stated Burhanuddin.
Burhanuddin also reminded that there must be no more entrepreneurs exploiting Indonesia’s wealth illegally and fleeing money abroad.
On that occasion, Burhanuddin reported the achievements of Satgas PKH in regulating forest areas.
The funds came from the collection of administrative fines in the forestry sector amounting to Rp 3.42 trillion, as well as the results of supervision of PBB and non-PBB taxes amounting to Rp 6.84 trillion.
In addition to handing over the money, Satgas PKH also returned forest area land spanning 2,373,171.75 hectares, originating from the reclamation of forest areas in the palm oil plantation and mining sectors.
According to Burhanuddin, since its formation in February 2025, Satgas PKH has successfully reclaimed 5.8 million hectares of forest areas in the palm oil sector and 12,371 hectares in the mining sector.
