Attorney General: Integrity is Non-Negotiable and Must be Upheld

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Attorney General ST Burhan_uddin has emphasised that the value of integrity is non-negotiable and must be upheld by all ranks within the Indonesian Prosecutor’s Office.

“Integrity is a non-negotiable price that we must uphold. An Adhyaksa official with integrity does not merely perform duties to fulfil obligations, but also brings values of honesty, morality, justice, and ethics into every step taken,” he stated during the commemoration of the 81st Anniversary of the Indonesian Prosecutor’s Office at the Training and Education Agency (Badiklat) of the Indonesian Prosecutor’s Office, South Jakarta, on Wednesday.

The Attorney General stated that public trust is both an honour and a mandate that must be guarded by all members of the Prosecutor’s Office through integrity, professionalism, and the best service to the community.

“Every Adhyaksa official is a mirror of the institution. Our attitudes, words, and behaviour do not only reflect our personal selves, but determine the dignity and authority of the Prosecutor’s Office in the eyes of the public,” he said.

Therefore, he reminded his staff to always maintain integrity, prioritise simplicity, and preserve the honour and authority of the institution in every action.

“You carry uniforms and ranks on your shoulders which are not merely attributes, but symbols of honour and trust. Guard that authority with humility. Respect your position appropriately. Stand tall with the authority granted by the state,” he said.

The leader of the Adhyaksa Corps also sternly warned his staff never to solicit or accept anything under the name of the Prosecutor’s Office.

“Because no matter how small, it can undermine the dignity of the Prosecutor’s Office that we have collectively protected,” he added.

The commemoration of the 81st Anniversary of the Indonesian Prosecutor’s Office carries the theme: “Restoring Public Trust Through Law Enforcement that is Integrated, Just, and Humanist.”
