Attorney General Grateful for Kejagung's New Building: The Old One Was Stiff

Attorney General ST Burhanuddin expressed his gratitude that the Attorney General’s Office (Kejagung) has completed the construction of its new building. He mentioned that there is wisdom behind the fire that occurred in the old building. “We indeed want to change everything starting from the appearance, the nature, and also in the execution of tasks. And alhamdulillah, the new buildings are now in place and no longer stiff; the old building was stiff, so as Javanese people say, the fire brings wisdom,” said Burhanuddin during the opening of the Persaja National Congress at Kejagung, South Jakarta, on Wednesday (15/4/2026). He stated that Kejagung is still continuing the revitalisation of the building. He assessed that the new building is already much better. “Come, lobby with us like a hotel. Previously, our rooms were cramped and close together, now they are starting to be a bit wider so it’s no longer like a ward office, it’s a bit spacious, so we think it’s comfortable if we are close together with colleagues,” he said. Burhanuddin mentioned that Kejagung is also building a new Jampidsus building. He admitted being grateful that Kejagung could complete the new building construction even though the capital will move from Jakarta to Nusantara. “Alhamdulillah, we are also continuing the Pidsus building; the Pidsus building now is already a new building,” he explained.
