Attorney General: Good Investigations Lead to Good Prosecutions

Attorney General ST Burhanuddin has spoken about the importance of synergy between the Indonesian National Police and the Attorney General’s Office. He stated that the two institutions have their respective roles in the law enforcement process.

“This synergy is necessary because for me, for a prosecutor, a good investigation will result in a good prosecution,” Burhanuddin said after a meeting with National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo at the Attorney General’s Office building in South Jakarta on Monday (13/7/2026).

He said that a good prosecution can lead to a good court ruling. He noted that this demonstrates the importance of synergy between the police and prosecutors.

“A good prosecution will result in a good ruling. That is why we must synergise,” he stated.

He said the meeting with the National Police Chief was nothing new. He affirmed that the relationship between the two institutions remains strong.

“Our synergy has been established for a long time. The law also requires us to synergise,” he said.
