Attorney General ST Burhanuddin has officially dismissed Danke Rajagukguk from her position as Head of the Karo District Prosecutor’s Office. The position is now filled by Edmond Novvery Purba.

The transfer is outlined in the Decree of the Attorney General of the Republic of Indonesia Number 488 of 2026, dated 13 April 2026, and was confirmed by the Head of the Public Relations Centre for Law at the Attorney General’s Office, Anang Supriatna.

“It is true,” Anang told reporters on Monday (13/4/2026).

In the decree, the Attorney General appointed Edmond Novvery Purba as the new Head of the Karo District Prosecutor’s Office. Edmond previously served as Head of the South Nias District Prosecutor’s Office.

“Transfers are a common occurrence and are continuously carried out by ministries and agencies, of course, involving transfers, promotions, and demotions,” Anang stated.

However, Danke’s new position remains unknown. Anang only said that Danke is now in a functional role.

“For the Head of the Karo District Prosecutor’s Office, Ms Danke has been transferred diagonally, meaning she is not in a structural position but in a functional one for the time being. This is also common in ministries and agencies,” he explained.

Danke Rajagukguk had come under scrutiny due to the alleged corruption case involving Amsal Sitepu. Danke and her team are currently being clarified by the Attorney General’s Office regarding the handling of the Amsal Sitepu case.

“While awaiting the results of the internal examination of the individual,” Anang clarified.

In addition to Danke, the Attorney General also transferred Harli Siregar, who previously served as Head of the North Sumatra Provincial Prosecutor’s Office, to the position of Inspector III at the Deputy Attorney General for Supervision.

Meanwhile, the position of Head of the North Sumatra Provincial Prosecutor’s Office is now filled by Muhibuddin, who previously served as Head of the West Sumatra Provincial Prosecutor’s Office.

As is known, Amsal Sitepu was sentenced to two years in prison by the Karo District Prosecutor’s Office in the corruption case involving the production of village profile videos in Karo Regency. The judge then declared Amsal not guilty and imposed an acquittal verdict.

Following the acquittal verdict, allegations of ethical violations committed by the Karo District Prosecutor’s Office prosecutors in the Amsal Sitepu case emerged. The House of Representatives’ Commission III even held a meeting with the Head of the Karo District Prosecutor’s Office and her team on Thursday (2/4) to learn about the handling of the case.
