“And I hope that this implementation is not merely ceremonial, but a genuine recognition for prosecutors, especially those who have excelled, and not just looking at the surface. I hope there will be cooperation, so this will certainly have an effect on activities,” Burhanuddin said during his speech at the Attorney General’s Training Centre in Ragunan, South Jakarta, on Monday (25/5/2026).

In this award, there are seven nominees. Burhanuddin hopes the award winners truly perform well.

“And I also ask the award recipients to remember this is not the end of striving for excellence; there is much more to come. This is merely the beginning for one’s name to emerge. But most importantly, after receiving this award, demonstrate that you can work effectively and are truly deserving, not just claims,” he said.

He admitted feeling concerned as some prosecutors deemed outstanding later became involved in cases. He vowed not to let such incidents recur.

“As head of the prosecution service, I feel somewhat traumatised by organising such events. On several occasions, I have organised awards, but some recipients were arrested by us within a week. Last year, after being named the best prosecutor, they were found guilty of misconduct just three days later. It is painful,” he said.

The Prosecutors Commission Chair, Pujiyono Suwadi, stated the award is an appreciation for the prosecutors’ performance. He hopes it boosts confidence and professionalism.

“This is not only about enforcing discipline but also recognising performance, integrity, and dedication of the Adhyaksa personnel. The award ceremony also demonstrates collaboration between the Prosecutors Commission of RI and the Indonesian Prosecutors Association to realise a professional, integrity-driven, and publicly trusted prosecution service,” Pujiyono said.
