Attorney General and National Police Chief Exchange Greetings and Praise
National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo paid a visit to Attorney General ST Burhanuddin. The two officials exchanged greetings and praise during the meeting. General Sigit arrived at the Attorney General’s Office in Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, around 3.17 p.m. Western Indonesia Time, after previously visiting the Indonesian Armed Forces Commander at the Military Headquarters. The Attorney General warmly welcomed the Police Chief and his delegation. Following the meeting, the Attorney General and the Police Chief held a joint press conference. Burhanuddin referred to Sigit as his friend. He stated that the visit was not a new initiative but a continuation of a long-standing tradition, and he dismissed any notion of rivalry between the two law enforcement institutions. The Attorney General also clarified that the meeting was a routine gathering and not prompted by any particular issues, emphasising a shared focus on future improvements. National Police Chief General Sigit addressed Burhanuddin as his mentor and expressed his honour at being received. He noted that the discussions focused on strengthening the bond between the two institutions as part of the criminal justice system. Sigit highlighted plans to enhance synergy, including joint efforts to socialise the new Criminal Procedure Code. He firmly stated that there are no problems between the two institutions and that their solid relationship is essential for safeguarding government programmes to ensure they run smoothly and provide maximum benefit to the public. The Police Chief also announced plans for a joint education programme involving an exchange between prosecutors and police investigators to improve coordination. He stressed that the collaboration aims to deliver justice and legal certainty to the community, describing the two institutions as one big family committed to maintaining solidity and synergy.
