It has been two weeks since the traffic flow to Klender from
Jatinegara through Jl. Raya Bekasi Timur has slowed down. It
takes approximately 20 to 30 minutes to travel from the Yogya
department store to Cipinang prison. It seems to have become a
permanent condition, whether morning or evening. In the weeks
before, this route took only five to 10 minutes.

I travel on this road daily, and believe the traffic lights on
Jl. Bekasi Timur crossroad leading toward Jatinegara, Cipinang
Jaya/Cipinang Muara, are to blame.

The turning time from green to red is too fast (about 30
seconds), while going from red to green takes a long time. This
is why traffic from Klender gets stuck at the crossroad every day
and grows into an endless line (about two kilometers), as far as
Jl. Pahlawan Revolusi.

The traffic light in front of the Cipinang Jaya bus stop
should be in better coordination with the light at the end of Jl.
I Gusti Ngurah Rai (from the direction of Klender).

I therefore appeal to the East Jakarta Directorate of Traffic
and Highways to bring order to this traffic mess, so that traffic
flow from Klender to Jatinegara will return to normal.
