Attention! Sidoarjo Police Ban Sound Horeg and Takbir Processions
Polresta Sidoarjo has banned takbir processions, the use of sound horeg, and the lighting of firecrackers on the night of Eid al-Fitr 1447 H. Residents are urged to centralise takbir worship activities at mosques or prayer rooms to preserve solemnity and regional security.
The directive was issued by Sidoarjo Police Chief Kombes Christian Tobing following his leadership of the Alert Assembly for Night Takbir Security Services at Polresta Sidoarjo, East Java, on Thursday (19/3/2026).
“We urge the public to conduct takbir only at mosques or prayer rooms. There is no need for processions, especially using sound horeg or lighting firecrackers that could disrupt public order,” said Kombes Christian Tobing.
According to Tobing, 800 combined personnel have been deployed to secure vulnerable points throughout Sidoarjo Regency. All officers and members across the 18 police sectors have been ordered to remain fully alert to monitor security conditions in their respective areas.
Polresta Sidoarjo has also coordinated with Sidoarjo Regent Subandi to eliminate activities that could trigger mass gatherings on public roads.
Although the determination of 1 Syawal 1447 H is still awaiting the government’s Sidang Isbat results, the police have ensured that anticipatory measures are well-prepared. These preventive steps are taken to ensure that Sidoarjo residents can welcome the day of victory in a safe and comfortable atmosphere.
“Our focus is on creating conducive conditions. Our members will continue to monitor the field to ensure no violations occur that could potentially trigger conflicts or accidents,” Tobing emphasised.
