Attention! National One-Way from Cikampek to Kalikangkung Officially Implemented
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - The Minister of Transportation, Dudy Purwagandhi, together with the West Java Police Chief, Irjen Pol. Rudi, has officially implemented a one-way traffic engineering measure on the national route from the Cikampek Main Toll KM 70 to Kalikangkung KM 414, Semarang, on Wednesday (18/3/2026).
This policy was introduced following a significant increase in vehicle volumes during the 2026 Eid al-Fitr homecoming traffic. The Minister of Transportation stated that the step is an effort to ensure the smooth travel of the public.
“This step represents the presence of the state in ensuring the smooth travel of the public during the 2026 Eid al-Fitr homecoming period,” said Minister of Transportation Dudy, quoted from a written statement on Wednesday (18/3/2026).
The Minister of Transportation explained that the implementation of the national one-way on the Cikampek Main Toll to the Kalikangkung Toll is fundamentally situational.
According to him, Jasa Marga has its own parameters to determine whether traffic engineering is necessary.
“If the V/C Ratio is above 8,000, then the Police and Jasa Marga will implement the national one-way. However, if the V/C Ratio figures show a decrease, the traffic will be returned to normal mode,” he said.
He added that the Ministry of Transportation will continue to monitor vehicle movements passing through the Trans Java Toll, while continuously coordinating with the Police and Jasa Marga. Similar actions are also taken on arterial routes used by homecomers.
“The Ministry of Transportation will continue to monitor the homecoming flow, both on toll roads and arterial routes. We want to ensure that public travel proceeds safely, comfortably, and smoothly,” said the Minister of Transportation.
The Minister of Transportation also urged the public to always drive carefully and comply with applicable traffic rules. He also advised homecomers to utilise rest areas if they feel fatigued.
“If tired, do not force yourself to drive. Utilise rest areas to rest temporarily before continuing the journey,” he concluded.
Meanwhile, the West Java Police Chief, Irjen Pol. Rudi, stated that his side will escort the homecomers as much as possible. He promised to monitor and secure all vehicles passing through West Java.
“We will guard them to reach their destinations safely. Safe homecoming, happy family,” he added.
Based on Jasa Marga data, 1.2 million vehicles have left the Jabodetabek area from H-10 to H-4 of Eid al-Fitr 2026. This figure is the cumulative traffic flow from four main Toll Gates (GT), namely GT Cikampek Main (towards Trans Java), GT Kalihurip Main (towards Bandung), GT Cikupa (towards Merak), and GT Ciawi (towards Puncak).
