The 7th President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi), attended the Regional Coordination Meeting (Rakorda) of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) Kupang City Branch in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) on Saturday (1/8/2026). Arriving at approximately 3:15 PM WIT, Jokowi appeared wearing a white shirt and a ‘destar’, a traditional East Indonesian headtie. He was accompanied by several PSI central leadership members, including the Secretary of the Advisory Board Grace Natalie, Secretary General Raja Juli Antoni, Vice Chairmen Isyana Bagoes Oka and Ronald Sinaga, as well as the NTT PSI Regional Chair Christian Widodo.

Jokowi advised all officials and sympathisers of the elephant-logo party to remain active within the community to introduce the party’s new identity. “For all cadres and officials, especially in Kupang City, I entrust that we all continue to be consistently present among the people,” Jokowi stated in Kupang.

In addition to urging cadres to work hard, he emphasised the importance of solidarity and gradual coordination from the local, regional, and central levels to resolve internal organisational issues. However, he jokingly stated that he was prepared to open the doors of his residence in Solo should there be disputes between cadres that truly find no resolution at the party management level.

“If possible, resolve it yourselves. If you cannot, ask for help from the Regional Chair. If you cannot, ask the Regional Office Chair. If you still cannot, go to the Central Board. If it still cannot be resolved, it is fine to come to Solo. But do not come to Solo for every little thing,” Jokowi joked, which was met with laughter from the cadres.

Jokwini’s presence at the PSI Kupang Regional Coordination Meeting is part of a series of scheduled visits to NTT lasting three days. Prior to the meeting, Jokowi visited the Car Free Day (CFD) area in Kupang City alongside PSI General Chairman Kaesang Pangarep and inspected a seaweed cultivation centre at Oesina Beach.
