Attending Bareskrim Technical Working Meeting, Police Chief Emphasises Strengthening Human Resource Quality
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesian National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo emphasised the importance of strengthening the quality and capabilities of human resources (HR) while attending the Bareskrim Technical Working Meeting (Rakernis) of the National Police. “This Rakernis is part of Bareskrim’s and its units’ efforts to continuously enhance professionalism through strengthening the quality and capabilities of HR,” he said at the Bareskrim Auditorium in Jakarta on Thursday. Sigit stated that the current uncertain global conditions are also impacting the domestic situation. “This also creates new legal loopholes that we must anticipate together,” he said. Therefore, strengthening Bareskrim’s HR and inter-agency collaboration plays a crucial role in law enforcement to realise a sense of justice for the public, as hoped by Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto. Furthermore, he reminded Bareskrim personnel to carry out thorough law enforcement against perpetrators of crimes that endanger the state and society, as well as to improve services to the public, especially vulnerable groups. “On one hand, how we continue to follow the developments of transnational crimes that are constantly evolving to find loopholes for new modus operandi of crimes. This is certainly a shared concern,” Sigit said. Further, the leader of the Bhayangkara Corps stated that current law enforcement is guided by the new Criminal Code (KUHP) and Criminal Procedure Code (KUHAP). He hopes that the National Police, together with all law enforcement apparatus (APH), can collaborate to realise justice in accordance with the paradigm of the new KUHP and KUHAP, which provides ample room for restorative justice at all levels. At the end of his remarks, he expressed thanks to all stakeholders who work with the police. “This shows our commitment to unite in carrying out law enforcement, which is a special concern of the government, and also provides a sense of security and justice for the public who need legal services,” he said.
