Attempted Robbery of a Woman in Bekasi Ends in Disaster as Husband Rams Attacker with Car

Bekasi, VIVA – An act by three men who allegedly intended to rob a woman in the Taman Galaxy area, Bekasi Selatan, Bekasi City, West Java, ended badly. Instead of fleeing with the victim’s motorbike, one of the suspects fell after being struck by the victim’s husband, who was driving a car from behind. The incident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday, 3 March 2026, at around 03:00 WIB. At the time, the victim was riding a motorcycle when three men approached and allegedly attempted to carry out a robbery. Bekasi Selatan Police Sector Chief, Police Commissioner Dedi Herdiana, explained that the victim was riding with her husband, who was in a car behind them. “There has been a crime of theft with violence where the victim was riding a motorcycle in tandem with her husband in a car, when three men blocked them, one of whom carried a celurit,” he said on Friday, 6 March 2026. The attackers then tried to seize the motorcycle. But the situation changed when the husband behind saw the act and took action. “Then the husband of the victim who was behind crashed the car he was driving into the attackers, hitting one of them,” he added. The collision caused one attacker to fall and not escape the scene. Meanwhile, two other attackers fled and are currently pursued by police. “For the two attackers who escaped, search is ongoing and they have been chased to a number of locations but have not yet been found,” he said. The fallen attacker was then secured by residents and handed over to police for legal processing. The incident also went viral on social media. In circulating video, the attacker appears immobile after being rammed by the victim’s husband. Some residents cluster around the attacker before police arrive and take him away from the scene.
