ATR Minister ensures public freedom from convoluted land administration
Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning Minister/Head of the National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) Nusron Wahid has marked the 81st anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia by pledging to protect the public from convoluted land administration through increasingly easy and transparent services.
Nusron also stressed that the Independence Day commemoration should strengthen public protection from land mafia practices through land service reform.
“With Indonesia’s 81 years of independence, we hope that Indonesia is free from land mafia. And Indonesia is free from convoluted land administration,” Nusron said after the launch of the ATR/BPN Ministry’s Service and Organisation Transformation in Jakarta on Monday.
According to him, independence is a basic right of every citizen, so land services must be able to provide legal certainty and guarantee the protection of people’s rights to land ownership.
“Independence is a basic right of every human being,” he said.
He expressed hope that Indonesia would be increasingly free from land mafia practices that harm the public, so that land governance can run in a more orderly, fair and transparent manner and provide legal certainty as well as positive economic impacts for the community.
Nusron also emphasised that land administration must become simpler, faster and free of red tape as part of efforts to improve the quality of public services in the land sector for all citizens.
In addition, the government continues to improve land administration to reduce the potential for overlapping data while realising a modern, trustworthy and community-oriented service system.
“Indonesia must be free from overlapping land administration,” he said.
The ATR/BPN Ministry launched three land service transformations on the 81st anniversary of Indonesia’s independence to improve time certainty, transparency and ease of public services.
“Modern public services must have certainty and transparency, be trackable, and allow people to check how far the process has progressed. That is why we need service transformation,” Nusron said.
The three transformations comprise Scheduled Measurement services, Integrated Transfer of Rights, and the implementation of a Region-Based Organisation working system, which were officially launched at the West Jakarta Administrative City Land Office.
The three transformations represent the ATR/BPN Ministry’s commitment to providing more excellent, transparent land services that offer time certainty and greater fairness for the public.
