ATR/BPN Supports Provision of Decent Housing Through Land Legality
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) supports the programme for providing decent housing by issuing land legality for low-income communities (MBR).
“This strategic programme from President Prabowo Subianto provides legal rights to land for low-income communities,” said Deputy Minister of ATR/Head of BPN, Ossy Dermawan, in a statement in Jakarta on Thursday.
Deputy Minister Ossy, alongside the Chairman of Commission II of the House of Representatives (DPR RI), M. Rifqinizamy Karsayuda, symbolically handed over land certificates to residents in Mekar Village, Banjar Regency, South Kalimantan.
The handover of these certificates, Ossy stated, serves as a manifestation of legal certainty and protection for the land owned by low-income communities.
Ossy stated that the government is not only building houses for low-income groups but is also ensuring that the land rights occupied are certified and possess legal force.
“Not only are decent houses being prepared, but the underlying land rights are also being addressed by the government,” said Deputy Minister Ossy.
During the event, 40 certificates were distributed to the community. Regarding certification, Deputy Minister Ossy explained that the Ministry of ATR/BPN, through the South Kalimantan Regional Office of BPN and the relevant Land Office, is currently implementing the Complete Systematic Land Registration (PTSL) programme for the low-income category.
This step is also in line with the Three Million Houses programme championed by President Prabowo.
“In South Kalimantan, 3,154 certificates have already been achieved for 2026. This number will continue to increase as data collection is being conducted on low-income communities according to their decile,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of Commission II of the DPR RI, Rifqinizamy Karsayuda, appreciated the steps taken by the South Kalimantan Provincial BPN Regional Office and the Banjar Regency Land Office in implementing the certification programme for low-income communities.
Once the certification is completed by ATR/BPN, the process will be followed up by the Ministry of Housing and Residential Areas (PKP) to continue the Three Million Houses programme.
“We welcome and appreciate the work of the Banjar Regency Land Office under the command of the Head of the South Kalimantan BPN Regional Office, which took the initiative to certify these lands first. We ensure the land is clear and clean and free of issues before the housing renovation begins,” he added.
